Neglected paneled door. Mahogany. From the late Rudolph Nureyev's apt. in the Dakota in New York City.
The door stripped, patched and pre-stained. All damage patched and color matched, old hardware etc.
The door finished stained and French polished [shellac technique]
The same door another angle. The job consisted of 15 doors in total.

 

Gold lacquered cast radiator grills [restored].
Original finish from 1890 had been dulled and turned black from soot.
Close up radiator grill [custom gold lacquer].

 

Shutter restoration before [heavy damage].
Shutter restoration after [wood replaced, prepped and painted].

 

100 + years of paint stripped off this paneling.
The stripping revealed figured oak!
Figured oak book matched panel above mantel.
Completed with polymerized tung oil finish.

 

Restored ivory inlayed doors [Yoko Ono's, the Dakota, New York City].
New piano hinge and ivroid [plastic composite] used to replace missing ivory.
Close up of cut pieces fastened with brass brads.
